Things to Do in Cappadocia

Cappadocia's surreal landscape — fairy chimneys, cave dwellings, and sunrise balloon flights — makes it Turkey's most distinctive region outside Istanbul. This collection gathers the experiences actually worth your limited time here.
Good to know: Balloon flights are genuinely weather-dependent and get cancelled without much notice — book with a company that offers a free rebooking, and don't plan a balloon flight for your only morning here. Cave hotels are atmospheric but can be cold in winter and have uneven, low-ceilinged spaces — worth checking specifics if mobility is a concern. Underground cities (like Derinkuyu) involve real stooping and tight passages, not ideal if you're claustrophobic.
