Things to Do in Konya

Konya is a genuinely different side of Turkey — conservative, historically significant as the home of the Sufi mystic Rumi, and far less internationally-oriented than the coastal cities. This collection ranks what's worth seeing.
Good to know: Konya is noticeably more conservative than the coastal cities — modest dress is genuinely appreciated, not just at the Mevlana Museum. Alcohol is far less available here than in Istanbul or the resorts. The December Whirling Dervishes ceremony (Seb-i Arus) draws big crowds — book well ahead if visiting then.
